To encourage innovative thinking and series ideas that are genuinely new and different we proudly announce the WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT? AWARD to be given when and if an entry is truly original and compelling. To qualify for the WDITOTA? a concept must be one that demands recognition regardless of its commercial potential. During some runnings of the PEOPLE'S PILOT there may be 1 winner. During others, no winners. And during others there may be several winners.

The Winner or Winners of the WDITOTA? will receive a 2-week in-residence fellowship at Cloud Creek Institute Of The Arts, where the creator will work with the CCIA professional staff to write and shoot a 5-minute DVD presentation of the idea for viewing on the Web and distribution to networks, prodcos and agents. ($15,000 value)

The PEOPLE'S PILOT, TV WRITER.COM, Cloud Creek Institute For The Arts, Inc., WriteSafe.Com, Larry Brody, and their employees and representatives will not use the submitted material or any part thereof, except in connection with this competition unless the writer(s)-submittor(s) grant them rights to the material, or the aforementioned parties determine in good faith that the writer(s)-submittor(s) do not own or control the material because all or parts of it were independently developed by others, are in the public domain, or are otherwise not novel, new, or the property of the writer(s)-submittor(s).

In light of ever-changing conditions, the PEOPLE'S PILOT, TV WRITER.COM, Cloud Creek Institute For The Arts, Inc. and Larry Brody reserve the right to substitute new prizes of equal value for those announced on these pages.

If in the judgment of the PEOPLE'S PILOT, TV WRITER.COM, Cloud Creek Institute For The Arts, Inc., or Larry Brody the winning entry does not meet minimum standards of acceptibility for network, cable channel or New Media development, as defined by their years of experience in television and New Media development, then Cloud Creek Institute For The Arts may supply suitable prizes of lesser value than those announced.

Recipients of the Special 1 Week Writing Retreat must be able to come to Cloud Creek Institute For The Arts and collect their prize within 6 months of being announced, or by the end of the next next contest period (the Feb 1st or August 1st following the announcement), whichever comes later, or the award is null and void. Any other prize not claimed within 6 months of the announcement of the winners shall be deemed refused and therefore to have expired.

Recipients of the WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT? AWARD must have their material ready to shoot at Cloud Creek Institute For The Arts within 6 months of being announced, or by the beginning of the next award period (the May 1st or November 1st following the announcement), whichever comes later, or the award is null and void.
